A few days ago ( the last week end in fact) I went with some friends to a still wild place in the country where I live (The French Guiana, in South America). This wild place is a large swamp, named Kaw, with lot of quiet water, where birds are numerous : herons, buzzards, ducks, and more ; and caimans : caimans are hiding in the day, just moving (for hunting) in the night.
To reach that swamp, you'll have to go by car for an endless way (trees all along the way on both sides of the street) to arrive to a landing stage where a canoe will came and carry you along the swamp, looking the beauties and enjoying the tranquility.
Of course, all that in exchange of a substantial amount of euros!
You'll have the surprise discovering there a little village, only accessible by canoe.
The post-office, looking like a Hobo Mad House does'nt it ?There the facilities are a bit basic, but there is solar-powered electricity, some streets..., a church, a school and a post office, and there is even a basical museum of nature (some photos, objects...they display a video about the swamp, but unfortunately the tv was out of order the day we where). In fact the more interesting about the museum is the museum itself, an edifice made of wood, looking like some boat in an ecological post future comic strip.
The church, so simple and so convincing, no ?
Somewhere later in the swamp, you'll encounter a boat, staying there, where you can have lunch and even have a night. It looks like a good place for a thriller...

The boat : is Mr Poirot investigating here ?
It was a good day, out of the way of our busy world, a soothing break. Saddly I had not taken my pipe : it would have been a grand finale of those pleasant moments.
