The first time I met
Condor it was on internet.
As a pipe smoker I am always looking for
tobaccos, for opinions others pipes smokers have upon tobaccos, and great stuffs they had.
Kevin Cook made a great site on internet where he shares his thougts through lots of tobaccos reviews at :
The Professor 's Pipe Page and Tobacco BarThis site is a best one ; very personal reviews of lots of tobaccos, a very deep taste with lot of talent to set out his opinions and make us interested in reading them.
It is not everywhere in internet where one can find
Condor. I did so on
James Barber Tobacconists site, which offers a choice of tobaccos which is not so large as on some american sites, but well selected.
The one I ordered was the ready rubbed ; there is also an original form as a flake, and a mild mixture which doesn't have at all the same reputation. The pouch has an old style look, nice green colored, Condor white written and the gold shadow of the majestic bird. The tobacco is ready rubbed in small parts, but not such as cigarettes tobaccos. I like very much that cut : so it is very easy to fill correctly the bowl, and to light it.
I opened the pouch and...What a strange smell, I immediatly thought of a lemon flavoured deodorant! But no matter, I went ahead, the moisture was perfect and I filled the bowl, light it up and enjoyed the smell and the taste, moreover with a slow and regular burning. That is a
Virginia tobacco but a Virginia as you never met one before. Strong, full, nothing sugary, but mellow, well balanced, friendly, full with taste ; the smell also was very deep reminding me some cereals plants. I had totally forgot about the deodorant!
One could say it is a spicy tobacco, but doesn't bit the tongue or the mind! After smoking it you feel fresh as after drinking an espresso.
It is a well tamed Virginia, wild and dominated as a bull in the arena. Finally, I say I compare it with an experienced mistress with male vigor.
